Hi all, First of all, I’d like to apologize for the long delay. I’m sure that you missed your winter dose of Farmhouse. We’ve been spread pretty thin, unfortunately, and had to retrench and focus on getting this Spring 2009 issue put together. We’re hoping that you’ll think it was worth the wait. As you have all heard, I trust, we’re living through some pretty tough times. It’s become more important than ever for publications like Farmhouse (and the countless other quality publications that are online and in print) to work hard to promote the work of new and emerging voices. The more that corporations feel the crunch, the fewer chances established companies are willing to take on fresh talent. In light of all of this, we promise to work even harder to get as much quality work out to an even bigger audience. To this end, we need your help. Without the means of employing a real marketing or promotions team, we rely solely on word of mouth, creative (read: free) ideas and the Internet. As the old adage goes, a rising tide lifts all ships, so your help does not simply support this publication, but the developing careers of all of our past, present and future contributors. Thanks in advance for your readership, your assistance and your dedication not only to this magazine, but to all writers trying to get their work out there. Enjoy! |
